Are You Qualified for a UAE Golden Visa and How to Apply?

One of the largest changes to the UAE’s immigration policy in recent years was the reform of the residency procedure in 2019. For residents, one of the biggest changes was the introduction of the golden visa, which offers up to 10 years of stay. When it was introduced, citizens could only receive a Golden Visa if they had contributed significantly to the UAE or possessed a particular set of talents.

Yet three years later, the initiative has helped high-achieving students, their families, businesses, physicians, artists, homeowners, and researchers. Many people who see long-term security at home in the UAE have stayed thanks to long-term resident permits, intended to entice top professionals and international investors to establish roots in the nation.

Who qualifies for a Golden Visa?

You must, in essence, be a top-tier professional, scholar, expert, skilled worker, public investment investor, real estate investor, entrepreneur, a graduate of an accredited UAE institution, non-UAE graduate, or frontline employee from an approved university.

To find out if you qualify, all you need to do is visit the Federal Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Port Security Agency (ICA) website and respond to a few questions about yourself.

This also applies if you have a deposit in an investment fund authorized in a nation of at least USD 540,000 (AED 2 million).
If you have the same capital but own a business. Respondents are also eligible if they graduated from one of the top high schools in the United Arab Emirates or from a recognized institution there with a minimum GPA of 3.8.

Those who have previously produced exceptional and tangible works of art in the visual arts, publishing, performing arts, design and craft, gaming and esports, media, and more are also eligible, as are specialists like physicians or engineers. Also applicable outside of the UAE.

The Golden Visa is open to applicants who make more than USD 13,600 (AED 50,000) per month in business. Participants may also be skilled players, coaches, judges, sports medicine practitioners, sports therapists, or public sports employees.

Golden visas and other incentives are increasingly being considered by employers in the UAE as a means of luring top talent and keeping hold of current workers. According to 2022 Media, the real estate web Property Finder has the scheme to draw in and keep software and data experts. According to the article, the corporation would back them and other senior executives in obtaining 10-year visas by paying for the application process and giving support.
